so using the apple configurator I should be able to add apps to all my 24 iPads? If I sync my master iPad to my macbook, how do I backup the rest to it?

is there a way to use this tool to add epub files to iBooks? We are using charing carts and the apple configurator but can't seem to find a way to get the epub files on the iPads without going back to iTunes.
