iPads in Education

Exploring the use of iPads and mobile devices in education.

Wow!  I downloaded the Splashtop app today on my classroom iPad.  There is a free version, but it is very limited.  The full version is $2.99.  This app allows me to not only control my computer remotely but I am able to see my entire desktop on my iPad.  I can use my iPad to see my desktop, use my regular web browser with Flash (!!)  and all of my bookmarks. I can also open all of my documents. Because my laptop is connected to my Smart Board, I am also able to remotely control my Smart Board, open documents, type and/or write on the Smart Notebook Software.  Set up was easy and the application finds my computer automatically.  I clearly need to work on my eye-hand coordination skills but this app is a great find for my classroom! Thanks for the post.

I have been using Doceri Remote since January. It has replaced the bulky smart board and even the wireless pen based whiteboard.

Doceri Remote is a complete Interactive Whiteboard Solution for the iPad.  It has all the features of Splashtop plus it gives you the ability to annotate on anything.

Thanks for this post... it's on sale through Memorial Day for 99¢. Didn't know such a thing existed!
