Exploring the use of iPads and mobile devices in education.
How to AirPrint for the Entire School… Cheap.
This is copied from my new blog.
I have just started my blogging of my school and how I manage the iPads but I plan to try and cover it all. So, check there if you don't see more from me here.
Ok, this is a good one. My school is already setup with a printer in every classroom. They are not AirPrint ready but they are networked or connected to a computer on the…

iPad Rollout Strategy
We are piloting iPads, but I can already see some dilemmas. Training is challenging. Unlike PC/Mac applications, there are no standard menus or behaviors - each app has a different interface. The relative newness of apps means that the set of apps will change over time - new apps will be introduced, some apps will disappear, and others will overcome their major limitations. The fluid nature of apps worries me given that teachers are not always the most adept at managing change.…

Using an iPad as a Graphics Tablet
This title is really the case study for a wider topic on Remote Apps.
For me this is one of the most exciting (tech) influences on mobile learning ... the interconnectivity between devices.
I have two folders on my iPad [Remote1 and Remote2] which are full of Apps that enable connectivity between the iPad and other devices ... and that connectivity can be both ways.

Yale Open Courses and my iPad
I have been an iPad user for the past year now and I have been looking for a way to make it more than just a toy. My kids watch their cartoons on it, my husband watches YouTube videos on it and I mostly surf and check my emails, but I really couldn’t justify spending $600+ on this “toy”.
My prayers were answered and I found an incredible site recently - Yale Open Course (http://oyc.yale.edu/). This is one truly amazing site. Yale…

American Revolution iPad Interactive Textbook
Hi all, I am a college freshman at the University of Pennsylvania and last year for my high school senior project I created one chapter of an iPad interactive textbook on the American Revolution. I figured that this would be a great place to share it, so if you're interested in downloading it for free, you can see it on the App Store at…

Making the device your own
Our school has recently made the leap to provide not only iPads as an available technology to classes, like the laptop carts and desktops in labs, we have also committed to giving out iPads to students as they arrive in the 9th grade year.....
As I am digging for content and apps that fully utilize the adoption of the new technology, I can't help but think of the 'geeks' that will blaze new trails in the use of the device. Why the geeks? Geeks are celebrated for not only learning…

iPad Resources for District Administrators
Please check out my site:iPad Resources for District Administrators
Knowing district budgets, I've tried to find the free and low-cost apps that we feel would be useful to district admins. Of course, they might also be beneficial to teachers and others.
There is also a Google Form for you to add apps to the section. At the bottom of the form is a link to view the spreadsheet. Please feel free to add to…
