Smart wifi way to access student iPad projects that have been "Saved to iTunes"

Apologies if this is common knowledge, but my guess is that you won't have tried it...Many of the Schools that I work with here in the UK struggle with things like webDAV and indeed many schools…Continue

Hi there! Here in the UK we don't have an Apps VL store like you do in the US. Most schools here are simply buying apps once and syncing to multiple iPads and Touches. Of course they shouldn't be…Continue

Smart wifi way to access student iPad projects that have been "Saved to iTunes"

Apologies if this is common knowledge, but my guess is that you won't have tried it...Many of the Schools that I work with here in the UK struggle with things like webDAV and indeed many schools don't provide email addresses for their learners. Tools like Dropbox are often for political reasons also a problem. So accessing work created by students on "class sets" of iOS devices (as opposed to 1:1 ownership) can be problematic. In my workshops I will show schools how to save via USB file sharing…See More

Hi there! Here in the UK we don't have an Apps VL store like you do in the US. Most schools here are simply buying apps once and syncing to multiple iPads and Touches. Of course they shouldn't be doing this. The schools are being sold by Apple and resellers tools like the Parasync and Bretford syncing units that make no reference to the legality of syncing apps!At some point soon hopefully we will have access to some kind of VL apps store.Has anyone here gone through the process of signing up -…See More

Connecting up with UK iOS practitioners

We have quite a thriving iPod Touch and iPad Community here in the UK. It began after a blog we created over a year ago focusing on the use iPod Touches in the Primary sector (is that Kindergarten in the US?) We have about 150 practitioners (primary/middle/high School) using iOS devices. It would be good to share ideas about the role of the devices in schools at all ages.  There plenty of…See More

"We are using iPads and iPod Touches quite heavily here in the UK. I have to agree the inability to access web 2.0 tool bars in safari is a pain. On some web 2.0 tool bars you can switch to HTML mode and that does enable some editing but it is a real…"
