It lets you add and remove users, reset passwords, lock accounts, and everything a systems administrator needs. This is very helpful so when teachers or students approach me in the hallways and need their account unlocked or password reset all I do is whip out mu iPhone and reset their password. So I work at a private High School and we are currently in a iPad pilot program this year (2 classes)and plan to deploy 480 iPads to our underclassmen next September. I have been testing and testing and testing ways to monitor, restrict, and control this many devices. We have a apple server that I just installed Mountain Lion Server on. I linked it to our active directory using the golden triangle.
