I work in the technology department at the Northshore School District in Bothell, WA. We are planning to deploy some iPads this fall and I am very interested in hearing how other districts manage their iOS devices for staff and student iOS devices, particularly with VPP codes and Apple IDs. I read through Apple's iOS 5 Education Deployment Guide and saw the different "ownership models" they recommend (personal, institutional, and layered). What ownership model do you follow for your staff assigned 1:1 iPads? How about for high school student 1:1 iPads? (I heard that for students under 13 you have to use the "institutional" model because kids under 13 can't have Apple IDs). We will be using JAMF Casper Suite for MDM.
