Exploring the use of iPads and mobile devices in education.
I've got 100+ iPads for a pilot program that will all be synced from one machine (potentially a nightmare, yes I know).
Question: has anyone synced from one machine and multiple libraries? (created new libraries on same machine by holding down option key when iTunes starts up - how to details at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589).
I'd ideally like a library for each group/class that is using them, ie:
Spanish 1
9th Grade Bio
AP Music Theory
etc.
and customize what apps go on the machines for each class instead of creating one image that has everything on it, although there will be overlap of some apps we've purchased. If you've got experience doing this, I'd love to talk. Thanks

Permalink Reply by Steve Dickie on August 29, 2011 at 2:13am I didn't know how to set up multiple iTune libraries when I started. So I ended up creating two different user accounts on my laptop. Each is set to use a different iTunes library and iTunes account. This could be a way to go if you can't get the iPads to sync from the proper library. Just set up a new user account for each group/class you'll need.
Then you'd just have to login with the proper username before you sync. You'd get the right library every time.
