Exploring the use of iPads and mobile devices in education.
I would like to hear about the experience that other schools using iPad2s have had with screen breakage. One of the biggest unanticipated problems in our program is that about 25% of the iPad2s in grades 3-8 now have cracked screens after only 8+ months of use. Students are permitted/encouraged to take their iPads home at night and on weekends. Most breakage has been in grades 3&4 while the iPads were off campus. We have been using CaseCrown cases because of their versatility, but we now know that they do not give the protection, especially around the corners of the iPads that is required. Does anyone have experience with cases that are versatile in how they can be set up for use, reasonably priced, and capable of reducing the screen damage that we have experienced. It would be great if Apple made a more rugged version for educational use.
