Exploring the use of iPads and mobile devices in education.
So I'm trying to find a way to share photos with my students via their iPads. I want to have students take photos of charts we have created as a class and have them be accessible to students as an easy reference. They need to be organized by subject and tags. My idea was to use Flickr. I found a very simple iPhone App Flickit which seems like it would be good for selected students to do the photography and then upload to the class group. However I'm having difficulty finding a good viewing app that doesn't require them to login to my account, is organized yet simple, and is free or cheap.
Anyone have experience with this that they can share? The other issue is that I'm not sure I want the photos to be marked public in case we want to share photos of students taken in class. So how can I do that?
I'd appreciate any ideas you have.
Ok...I may be making some progress on my own problem. I found an App called Flickr Decks by Cooliris which is free. You can search for a "deck" and get the photos from a specific user name. It's not super organized but you can search terms found in the title of the photo. (no way to do it by tags that I can see.) So if you made sure to title photos with subject: date: unit: topic: ect. then students could find photos reasonably easy if they knew what to search for. They also can favorite certain photos for easy reference.
Still doesn't solve the privacy issue though...ideas??
