iPads in Education

Exploring the use of iPads and mobile devices in education.

I'm afraid the IPad2 smart cover is not ideal for Grades K-2. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone know of anything in the works?

Thanks!

I am having a hard time finding the Delfektor for sale. Any suggestions where to purchase them?

Thanks,

Aaron

Hi Aaron,

Their website is not fully functional. No one answers the phone. My wholesalers do not handle it.

The best I can do is send them an email.....and see if we get a response.

Yeah, I found website pretty bad as well. I did leave a message and got a voice mail in response. They said to email sales@ruggedprotection.com and they could issue a sales order or invoice that I could use to create a PO.

I just did, I'll let you know what I hear. I think he said they were about $24.95 if I was buying 23 of them. That almost sounds too good to be true. Maybe I misunderstood. We are actually buying 75 so... we'll see.

Aaron,

Here is my contact info for the Cyclone Deflektor cases.  If you order from 3 Cord Marketing please let them know that I referred you to them.  Sounds like you may have found them for $0.50 less than I am paying.  I have another local distributor near me who is selling them for about a dollar more per case.

Check out the OtterBox cases if you're looking for something to really protect them.

I posted this on another discussion, but seems like maybe I should have posted here.

We purchased 28 gripcases for our first grade class in conjunction with a Datamation iPad cart and they fit great inside the cart. The kids love the gripcases and they really protect the ipads.

So far we have had one student drop/damage his iPad2 while in a Deflektor case.  The screen did not shatter, but the iPad later developed an operability problem.  Because the screen was intact Apple replaced it under their warranty program.  There are a number of features that I wish the Deflektor as well as the Griffin Survivor had, but at least it seems to provide protection at a reasonable cost which is our top priority.  We experimented with an all silicon rubber case, the Uzibull Ekto 2, but the teacher who used it found the rubber too easy to stretch and remove the iPad.

The Big Grips case is great and I use it in my Kindergarten class :)
