Exploring the use of iPads and mobile devices in education.
Mid lecture feed backing is a very important tool for teachers to understand the extent of grasp of subject by students, and judge whether instructor can move on to the next topic or should reinforce the same topic. Unfortunately that is not always so easy with shy students or deceptively nodding students.
Having seen a few discussions here, I guess some of you would get excited if I told you we are going to replace paper - pencil for most parts of in class exercises! And as a natural extension, we are going to capture each step of student response on the cloud, downloaded to teacher tablet with a summary performance and with student exceptions! Not only that there would be auto student profiling (based on rules set by the teacher for analytics). It will also support thumbnail based "rapid fire" digital ink assessment mode, allowing students to resubmit till it comes to a minimum level.
The cloud enabled tablet app suite (called iClassRoom - under development) can be used extensively for Science, Grammar, Geography and Algebra initially.
I would love to get your questions and doubts so that we can bring the product out the way you would like it to be.
