Google Docs for iPad and Android coming in a few weeks

According to a release on the Google Blog yesterday, mobile editing and sharing of Google Docs will be available on both Android and iPad devices in the coming weeks. This is an important development for those of us that use Google Apps for Education. The major rap against the iPad has been that it isn't a serious work device and one example was the relative inability to easily create, edit and share documents on the iPad. Support for Google Docs promises to change the landscape significantly.

Microsoft also announced recently that the new version of Office - which has a cloud based component - will also be supported with an application for the iPad.
