Exploring the use of iPads and mobile devices in education.
Today while browsing @tonyvincent ‘s blog I noticed a cool tool that he was using to share his favorite IOS apps. Appsfire is a place for you to create a list of your favorite apps as well as find other apps that you may like. Appsfire also allows you to “Follow” a search term for updates in the future. You can also limit your search to free only apps. Another great feature of the site is the ability to share your “Device” on social networks. You can also add your device to your blog.
Too add this:
to your site, you have to do some coding but its not to hard.
To get started create an account at http://appsfire.com and click on “My Apps”
You will now see your device show up. Next click on “Add Apps”
A search bar will show up, simply enter the name of your app ie: Pages
Next click “Add these Apps”
Add all of the apps that you want to share, when you are ready to share click the select all button. You will now see another window open with sharing options such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, and Links. If you just want to share you can stop here. If you want to embed on your blog keep reading.
Now to show your device on your blog we have to create an iFrame. Copy and paste this code into your blog and substitute my link with yours:
"<iframe src="http://myap.ps/efv" width=660 height=700 scrolling=no frameborder=0 allowtransparency="true">
You will now have your device on your blog.
Note: if you are a wordpress user, I could not get this to work. If you figure out a way
please let me know!
If you have any questions or need help please let me know. I am more than willing to help you add this to your site.
Cool Idea. At the end of the year have your students create their favorite app mixes to share.
Great let me know if it works!
